Should kids be allowed to sit in front of the TV all day and watch cartoons & play games?
Is it just too convenient for parents and carers to put kids in front of the box?
Are kids better off outside playing? Or do they actually gain something from being glued to the TV/Games console. . . . i think it can make kids a little short tempered and unwilling to participate in any group activities?
What do you say?

As long as kids spend a good amount of time out of the house playing out a few hours tv in the evening isn’t going to hurt them. It’s about common sense.

i have nothing against tv, my son goes to day care two days a week which is full on play time out side with his friends, he is home with me 5 days a week, the three weekdays he watches dora the explorer probbably about four hours each day and diego the same about two hours seems alot i know but its been good for him, he loves it and asks to watch it all the time, it gives him things to do and work out, he is learning another language and it makes him interact with what she is doing she asks him what to do and ect, i dont mind him watching tv as long as i know what he is watching, he has plenty of outside play time and weekends are no tv days, so the few days he is at home with me its good for him, but in this all kids need variety, and out side play is an absolute in every childs day to day business

well think of it like this in front of the tv they have control
making them very connected to a one on one relationships
on top of that they never learn to control them selves
they learn things off of the experience of others
tehn they want to try doing those things
out side they have to use there own imagination
and tehy have to deal with problems them selves
it will help build there character
tv is good for those times that you need a extra hand
but dont always use it
i have a rule of only allowing them to watch at night when there is no sun light for them to go play out side
other then that they have to be doign somethign else beside the tv or video games
show them how awesome the world around them can be

Children should not be allowed to sit in front of the TV all day and watch cartoons & play games, because their intellectual performance will decrease over time and result in unrepayable bad grades. Besides, they will develop negative personality traits and obesity.

No cut the plug off the television, that way they might actually learn something by accident, without actually being brainwashed into believing something that is fictitious from a news programme.

The key is balance.Kids are kids and should be allowed to enjoy being kids.TV,cartoons and video games should be an intergral part of a kids life, but so should group activities, spending time with family and outdoor activities.Kids should get a healthy mix of all of the above – so to answer your question – kids should not be allowed to sit in front of the TV all day but should be encouraged to spend time on other mind & character building activities.
