all of the fights that we want. 60 bucks here, 50 bucks there is tough on most men and women and downright impossible on some budgets.
Totaled, pay per view events will likely run you over two thousand dollars. . . and that’s not taking into consideration premium channel charges for channels like HBO and Showtime and standard cable fees. It’s all coming out of your pocket since there are no combat sport events
on cost-free Television anymore.

Preview: Andre Ward returns to his stomping grounds to defend his newly won WBA title against dangerous contender Allan Green. This is the 2nd round of the Super Six World Boxing Classic—a round-robin tournament involving the best super middleweights in the world. For those who have missed out on the tournament thus far, it’s not too late to get involved. In a day when the best fighters often avoid each other, this has been a wonderful change of pace. Green was not initially in the tournament, as this will be his first fight in the Super Six. Jermain Taylor pulled out and he received the slot. He hopes to capitalize on his good fortune, but his work is cut out for him. Ward, a 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist and now an undefeated world champion, is rounding into a superb fighter. He thrashed highly regarded champion Mikkel Kessler in the first round of the tournament. His speed, moxie, and class were unmistakable. It was a true coming-out party for the Oakland native.
Despite Ward’s credentials and recent run of dominance, one cannot help but feel that Green has a chance. The former National Golden Gloves Champion at light heavyweight is the bigger man at a well-put-together 6’2″. His offense has a dynamic air to it. While lacking the pure speed of Ward, Green’s punches come quickly and with great force. He is capable of doing tremendous damage and he has boxing skills to boot.
Green has been erratic. Sometimes he looks devastating, like when he nearly decapitated fellow prospect Jaidon Codrington. Other times, he seems distracted and listless. One would expect him to be mentally into this fight. If he loses, it will not be a result of his lack of intensity. Slowed by a colon problem that may have been the cause for his lone loss against Edison Miranda, Green is now in position to put something big together. Expect him to be gunning for glory.
The main question is whether or not Green will be effective against the greasy-quick Ward. If far-less accomplished and talented boxers have bothered Green before, how will he manage to be effective against Ward? Obviously, the oddsmakers are reading into this and they apparently don’t like Green’s chances. Ward also appeared to draw a lot of inspiration from fighting at home when he dominated Kessler in his last fight. If he starts getting on a roll, Green could be looking at an insurmountable task.
Prediction: Green at +400 is an excellent value. It’s not clear whether Ward has ascended to the point where he should be such a heavy favorite against a standout talent like Green. Ward should be the favorite, but the odds do not seem to fairly represent the qualities of Green. Ward could outclass him and simply be a cut above. I just suspect that Ward is a tad overrated. Beating a sliding Edison Miranda and the always-overrated and decidedly unspectacular Mikkel Kessler have put him on another level, but it’s not clear if those two wins alone merit superstar status. To be a +600 favorite against Allan Green, a fighter should have to be an established superstar.
Green has his work cut out for him, but the danger element he brings to this fight makes him a good bet at this price.

Dirrell is a true talent with speed and reflexes, but I don ‘t see him as a full combatant. It has the ability and the talent to beat most opponents of this one but he posted some of the trends do not bode well against the best opposition. I am referring to a hit and run, almost afraid, poster style Dirrell cons dangerous opposition.
It is the first cons stocky puncher Curtis Stevens in New York where he has done enough to win, but has deliberately avoided any contact form for 10 rounds. And in his last fight Carl Froch, Dirrell ran, conducting and a negative pattern. Dirrell land has some clear shots and the match was close, but with his style and constant negative clinching it gave the impression of a reluctant warrior.
Abraham is a clear winner, a fighter of money if you want. He’s strong, explosive, hard, skilled and hard to reach. He fought with confidence and is very comfortable in the ring. He knows how to win and close a show in the style as shown in the end turn many KO. He fought through a broken jaw in a dubious battle, but to his credit vast avenged this fight with an emphatic KO 4th round stoppage Edison Miranda. Abraham is a default. It can be very defensive and does not always work the best rate.
But I think part of that was taken to the limit of 160 pounds in his previous fights. And although he was economical, it was effective and that no one has really been able to reach a point lead despite this part of his style. And Abraham benefit that this fight is 168. This is a very good weight for him right now and he is extremely strong here.
Dirrell may have an edge in pure speed, but Abraham does plodder and he is so physically strong with a great power. Dirrell probably thinks he can break into Abraham as he is in a turtle protection, but unlike Clottey Abraham punch and will explode with heavy combinations throughout the fight.
When Dirrell not open, it seems out of balance and skittering because he is so concerned about fire. And despite his speed, he grabs plans. I think that Abraham knows what was in front of him, but I’m not sure Dirrell fully appreciates what makes Abraham.
I expect Abraham to be the hunter in this fight. It will not be reckless, it is not his way, but it must exert pressure. And I think it is simply too strong, mentally and physically, to cope with Dirrell. If Froch made the fight Dirrell “this way”, it will be worse this time. I expect to get Abraham to Dirrell and possibly get a fight with changes suddenly at some point in the 2nd half of the fight. Either Abraham won a decision to caution or Dirrell caught him and released him at the end of the fight.

Dirrell is a real talent with speed and reflexes but I don’t see him as a complete fighter. I’m referring to a hit and run, almost scared, style Dirrell displays against dangerous opposition.

And in his last fight Carl Froch, Dirrell ran, held and put on a negative display. Dirrell did land some crisp shots and the match was close but with his negative style and constant clinching he gave the impression of a reticent fighter.

He fought through a broken jaw in a questionable fight but to his vast credit, avenged that fight with an emphatic 4th round stoppage KO of Edison Miranda. Abraham does have one flaw. He can be very defensive and doesn’t always have the best work rate.
