Personalized Gifts For Kids
Sep 3rd
Every child loves having a gift that is markedly their own. For most children, there are times they seem to be living in the shadow and often even the hand-me-down clothing of an older sibling. Personalized gifts for kids will give them a chance to enjoy the knowledge there is something uniquely made just for them.
Sports clothing
Any parent knows that writing your child’s name on their things with a black marker will cause the item to disappear off the face of the planet forever, but monogrammed or professionally stenciled labels are a completely different manner. Kids both teens and pre-teens will love having hooded sweatshirts, shorts, or t-shirts in their favorite team’s color especially if their own name is also embossed on it. These are usually not hard to find online or at specialty shops. They are often done in the store if you shop in person so you can walk out with your order. Online work might take a few days, but is usually less expensive with the same quality.
School Clothing
Find out what the child is permitted to wear at school. Some schools do not let children wear sports, printed words, or logos since these are considered distracting to the other students. Monogrammed casual jackets or sweater tops have a look most children will like. Young girls might especially appreciate their names in glitter or colorful stencil on backpacks, purses, or jackets. It is a good idea especially with pre-teens or teens to have a quick look at their wardrobe if possible to check their tastes before buying.
Young children’s parents might not want their child’s names or even their initials on any articles of clothing. This doesn’t mean that clever sayings or a favorite storybook or movie character can’t be added to an otherwise plain t-shirt or jacket to make it especially just for him or her.
Other personalized gifts for kids
If the child is a young sports enthusiast you could have a basketball, football, or soccer ball stenciled with his or her name on it. A nice gift for a very young child is a rocking horse personalized with their name on it. Such an item is likely to be kept as a memento long after the little person grows out of playing with it. Older children might like engraved or stenciled toy boxes.
Religious personalized gifts for kids
Events that mark a child’s religious upbringing are also good times to personalize the gift with the date, the child’s name and symbols or writings to commemorate this passage in their life. Communion heart rosary’s suitable for children can be engraved or monogrammed. Bar Mitzvah gifts such a handmade prayer book or jewelry that demonstrates a connection with the celebration can be engraved or monogrammed so they know this item was always meant just for them.

Marshfield Boys and Girls Club Kids Spread Holiday Cheer With Homemade Cards for Seniors
Sep 3rd
The handmade cards, crafted from colored paper, magic markers, foamies, glitter and stickers took a couple of weeks for the 75 children to make. Many of the children were so excited, they made two cards. Quite a few children inserted a handwritten letter which told the recipient about their favorite part of Christmas.
The cards were distributed by the Marshfield Council on Aging to the Senior Center and the Grace Ryder Elderly Home last week.
“This is definitely a program we would like to continue each year. The kids, who ranged in age from 6 to 14 years old, really enjoyed getting involved and designing their own holiday cards for our community’s seniors,” noted Greg Jackson, Marshfield Boys and Girls Club Executive Director.
About the Boys and Girls Club

Sorry, Kids, no Vacation this Year
Aug 27th
Have you ever having to break bad news to your children? The stricken look on their faces can hardly drive a parent to use the credit to go on vacation. Of course, this only compounds the problem you had in the first place.
As parents we all try to give our children better than we can. Unfortunately, this means that we do (sometimes) try to do what we can actually. It may be simply not to see the look on these young faces devastating, or it may be a matter of peer pressure. It may simply be that you can not accept that you are not financially prepared.
To avoid facing their disappointment, we, the parents would rather struggle to pay bills for the next year or more. We are under tremendous financial difficulties, simply because we are trying to do too much.
At the end of the day, however, you can make your child an even greater injustice by going the extra mile. It may very well mean that you end up doing without things that might be more important than a great holiday. However, it is a difficult choice to make. Do you prefer your children face a terrible disappointment, or do you prefer to offer short-term enjoyment in return for a tough year ahead?
In many cases, not be able to have the annual family vacation is just a matter of poor planning. While we constantly try and convince themselves that this vacation is simply not possible, we could do some creative planning to get there.
While it is not possible to have a tropical vacation or cruise into the sea each year, it is always possible (in most cases) have nice family vacation. Everything you need to do is to plan and think outside the box.
