Sharp Headaches When I Exercise on a Skipping Rope Before Boxing?

Why do I get sharp, killer headaches when I’m attempting to work on a skipping rope? My boxing instructor thinks it’s quite unusual. Has anyone had similar experiences? When I start doing the skipping rope, I get absolutely horrendous headache within the first 3 minutes. It’s like someone slicing my brain with a sharp knife. It gets so bad, that I have to stop immediately. When I stop, the killer-headache subsides, but I’m still left with unpleasant headache for the rest of the day, even if I take painkillers every few hours.

Some people suggested that it might be because of dehydration. So I made sure that I have plenty and plenty of water a day or two before I attempt doing the skipping rope again. Still. . . . that was not the solution, as I got the agonising headache again.

Then someone said, maybe I need to take some salt tablets and that would be the solution. So I took some salt tablets regularly for a few days, and then attempted the skipping rope. Same thing again. A very, very sharp pulsating and unbearable pain in my head would develop within the first 3 minutes. . .

Someone said maybe I have a brain tumour. But then I remember I’d had an MRI scan (which is even better than a CT scan) of my brain about one year ago, and everything was normal. . . no tumours or anything like that.

So what could be the reason? How can this sharp, sudden pain be explained? Do you think the doctor, who’d done the MRI scan of my brain, might have overlooked something?

No, I’m not tired. I only train in the early afternoon, after I’ve had a good and proper rest. So tiredness or lack of motivation is not an issue. There is some underlying medical problem which can perhaps be identified and solved.
Deep breaths didn’t do it for me (as I’ve tried). I’s also have to rule out iron-defficiency as I’d have lots of beef and wild rocket.

what type of skipping rope should i use for boxing training?

hi, i bought a golds gym nylon skipping rope but i dont know if its moves fast enough. i was wondering what people think is the best type of skipping rope to use for a boxing workout e. g. nylon rope, plastic speed rope or leather rope. i heard muhammad ali and sugar ray robinson trained with leather ropes so if its good enough for them. . . ?
